When you place an order through Anycart, there are two steps to the payment process: temporary authorization and final charge.
The temporary authorization is placed on your card immediately after the order is placed, to ensure that the appropriate funds are available when the order is shopped. This authorization is typically 15%-20% higher than the estimated cost of the order. This is to ensure that there are enough funds to cover any potential changes to your order, such as product substitutions, weight differences, and out-of-stock items. The authorization amount and disclaimer is listed both in checkout and on the order page:
Your card is not charged until the final price is determined and order delivered. At this point, the final charge replaces the temporary authorization. The final charge will match the items delivered and include any discounts offered on your order.
To view the amount you were charged for an order, please visit your order page. The total for the order is listed in the "Order Summary" section:
See here for more information on how to access your order summary. If you have more questions about understanding the store receipt versus your final charge, please see here.
Please note: In rare cases where there may unusual pricing issues or where expensive substitutions were given, your order total displayed may be greater than the actual amount you were charged for the order. Because your card in only authorized for a certain amount, that is the absolute maximum amount you can be charged; a final charge will never exceed the authorization amount.
