Delivery times & availability
Delivery times are ultimately up to each store's availability. The delivery times displayed in checkout are estimates of available slots provided to us by each retailer. Once the order is placed, we check with the retailer to see if that delivery time is still available, and schedule accordingly.
If you have some degree of flexibility in your schedule, we recommend selecting this option to ensure that your order is still scheduled if the time slot you request becomes unavailable:
Because real-time availability can change rapidly, occasionally we are not able to secure the requested delivery time for the order. However, if the above option is selected, we are usually still able to secure the next available time slot in those cases. The system will continue trying to schedule the order for the next available delivery times for 1 hour until it is auto-cancelled.
If the above option is not checked, our system will try for 1 hour after the order is placed to secure your requested delivery time (as it is possible new slots will open up), before auto-cancelling the order if no new slots open.
In checkout, if you do not see any specific delivery estimate times listed, this usually means low availability due to high volumes of online grocery orders.
However, if you submit the order with the "select next available time slot" option checked, Anycart is able to collect your order and submit it to the store, at which point we regularly check with your preferred retailer until the next available delivery slot is secured.
We can often get a delivery scheduled with retailers that may otherwise be unavailable, but if we are unable to after 1 hour of trying, the order will auto-cancel. We enable the 1-hour cut-off to ensure that no order sits for hours in limbo if there is an issue with delivery scheduling.
After you have submitted your order, an accurate delivery window is usually secured within 15 minutes of placing the order. When a delivery window is confirmed, your order status will be updated to 'Scheduled for delivery', and you will receive an email with the confirmed delivery details.

Only some stores require that a person be home to receive the order. The best indication of whether your store requires this or not is the delivery time slots in checkout being labelled as "Attended".
In most cases, to verify that someone is there to receive the order, the driver calls the phone number provided on the order. If no contact is made after any attempts, general policy is to return the order to the store.
